MANA is a South African - Peruvian vocalist and composer based in Cape Town. Her music is ethereal and vulnerable, influenced by her Latin roots and love for jazz.

MANA has a background in theatre & film making and is known to create immersive performances. 

Her work as composer and vocalist has taken her to residencies in Switzerland associated with the likes of the Sun Ra Arkestra and Bird's Eye Jazz Club. A seasoned performer, she's toured around Europe, Peru, South Africa and Mozambique and notably at Pangea, Search, Convoi (NL) and Reforest Festival. 

She is also part of many multi-genre projects including Brazilian jazz 9 piece Oceanico, Afro Fusion sonic liberation collective Operation Khataza, downtempo duo FUMAH with producer Fu Dog, among various others performing in Africa, Europe and South America.

 MANA performs as a DJ under the moniker ANIMA. Her work explores cultural hybridity, magical realism, and progressive performance practices. ANIMA's multi-genre sets highlight the Global South, ensuring its representation in the global music scene. Her innovative approach champions minority narratives and future identities, advancing underground voices in contemporary music.
